The first annual collegiate sales competition hosted by Bentley University will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2020 (9:30 am to 1:00 pm). This competition is open to all Bentley students regardless of class standing or major. The main competition will have two parts:
1) Business Development Representative (BDR) competition: Students will attempt to reach a prospect via simulated phone call in order to gauge interest in a new product or service. The goal of this call is the handle initial objections and set an appointment for a demo of the product for the prospect.
2) Account Executive (AE) competition: Students will have a face-to-face meeting with a qualified prospect in order to close a sales deal for a new product or service. The objectives of this phase of the competition is for the student competitors to demonstrate rapport building, discovery, objection handling, and closing in a simulated sales meeting.
In addition to the two main parts of the competition, there will be a mini Career Fair with employers interested in hiring students into internships and full-time roles in sales.
There will be live and online, recorded training sessions prior to the competition.
